The Mallorcan company J2 Sailing is building a total of 8 J/99 sailboats for the Spanish Navy. The first of these, “Regulus,” has already been delivered and will compete in this 42nd Copa del Rey de Vela.
This fleet is used to train students in sailing and to participate in regattas. These boats, which measure 10 meters in length, 3.5 meters in beam, and have a draft of 2 meters, are being constructed by J2 Sailing based on the design by the American shipyard J. Boats. Deliveries are already underway, as is the case with the unit that will participate in the waters of the Bay of Palma during this edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE.
