12 scholarships are offered to the projects of the marine conservation for the students of the UIB

The Chair of the Sea is launching the sixth edition of the program of grants for research projects by students of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) related to the field of ecology and conservation of the marine environment.

This scholarship, encouraged by the Iberostar Foundation, has as a goal to promote the specialized training in all the fields related to the investigation, management and conservation of the marine environment, and they will count on with a budget of 48.500 euros directed to the 12 most outstanding projects, according to the information of the UIB.

Furthermore, with this grant it searches to promote the investigation of the field of marine ecology and the aim is to promote the creation of new research groups and the training of specialized research staff.

The students can opt to get this help, those who have successfully finished their ‘Trabajo de Fin de Grado o Máster’, or doctors who are engaged in a process of scientific research.

This new edition marks the path towards achieving the objectives in line with the "Wave of Change" movement, which were established with the signing of this agreement in 2018 by the Iberostar Group and the UIB.
