On July 25th will start the return to Mallorca with a total of nine fixed boats and others that will be added in different sections on an ad hoc basis. Roca has assured that the Balearic will be incorporated in the last stretch of the tour.
"The number of participating boats has been limited to nine because that is how it was done in 1899," said Roca. The route will start in Cala Figuera and will continue through Portocolom, Porto Cristo, Cala Ratjada, Alcúdia, Sóller, Banyalbufar, Andratx and Palma.
The trip around Mallorca organized by the nine intrepid sailors in 1899, aboard the llaüt San Miguel, is the first documented trip by Mallorcans for leisure purposes. This documentation was found in the Can Clar Archive and later, in 2019, the book "9. Diaria de l'expedició santanyianera al voltant de Mallorca" was written, which records these facts.
