The third day of Sa Lliga Hivern, RI Cruiser class, forced the participants to show their best version, on a day marked by weather complications that led to 9 of the registered boats completed the test. Pere Triay's "Va Bien" was the big winner while Aina Triay's "Asturcon Quinto" remains firmly in the classification.
FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES AND RECEIVE UPDATES FROM "PASSION FOR THE SEA"Given the weather conditions, with wind of 230º, an average force of 19 knots and gusts of up to 25 knots, the Race Committee defined a course out of the port of Mahón that started half a mile east of La Mola towards the Isla del Aire passing through two marks and then returned to port. The fastest boat was Carlos Pons Vidal's "Alba III", which completed the course in 2:34:33, but once the times had been corrected, it fell to second place in favor of Pere Triay's "Va Bien", winner with 2:36:10, 42 seconds ahead after the times were corrected, both from the Club Marítimo de Mahón. The bronze was won by the representative of Club Náutico Fornells, an "Asturcon Quinto" with Aina Triay at the controls that is proving to be the most regular boat in Sa Lliga Hivern (2:47:52) at 3:28 of the victory.
Precisely Triay, with this result, consolidates his position at the top of the table with 8 points, after a second place and two third places, with two races left to finish the competition. In second place is "Llamp" of Juan Carlos Gregorio with 16 points (3,7,6), while the bronze, for the moment, is for "Sukita" of Virginia Petrus with the same points, 16 (6,6,4).
Sa Lliga Hivern has two appointments left to bring down the curtain, the first will be on March 10th and the second and last, on March 24th. The trophies will be awarded in September, coinciding with the end of season gala of the Club Marítimo de Mahón.
