A new edition of the Nàutica Tramuntana Trophy for cruisers took place this weekend under the organisation of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR). The meeting brought together almost thirty boats, most of them based at the CNR, but also from other clubs such as CN S'Estanyol and CN Porto Colom.

As in previous editions, it consisted of two regattas, one outward race between Sa Ràpita and Cabrera and one return race to the CNR after sailing around the island and spending the night there. Saturday's race, the outward leg to Cabrera and the return to the island, was carried out with a reverse time, with a staggered and individual start for each boat depending on its characteristics and rating, so that the first to reach the finish line is the winner, instead of all of them starting at the same time and then compensating for the time spent, as is usually done. As for Sunday's race, Cabrera's return to the Club, it was held with the traditional compensation of times by applying the RI Rating.

On Saturday, the fleet, made up of around thirty boats and almost a hundred 120 sailors, set sail from the CNR at eleven o'clock in the morning. The fleet enjoyed wind conditions of around 10 knots, reaching Cabrera after a three-hour crossing. After the race, the fleet had a picnic in the picnic area, tasting trampó cakes and pizzas while commenting on the day in an atmosphere of camaraderie and brotherhood.

The following day, after spending the night in Cabrera, the entire fleet set sail from the island back to the CNR at eleven o'clock in the morning, with slightly stronger wind conditions of 12 knots with gusts of up to 15 knots. The fastest boat in the fleet managed to complete the crossing in two and a quarter hours, with the rest arriving back at the CNR in stages.

The winner of this III Trofeo Náutica Tramuntana was Joan Lladó's 'S'Indio III' (CNR), with 2 points overall, followed by Alejo Truyols' 'Nidea 2' (CNR), with 4 points, and Bartolomé Ginard's 'Batzac' (CN Portocolom), with 6 points. This same podium was repeated on both the outward and return legs, meaning that these three boats clearly dominated the competition at all times.

"The regatta was held in very good conditions and there was an excellent atmosphere among the sailors. It is a very complete and profitable activity, both from a competitive and social point of view," says Miki Bover, sports director of the CNR, who highlights the full collaboration of the team from the Cabrera Archipelago Maritime-Terrestrial National Park.

The Trofeo Náutica Tramuntana is one of the events on the Club's regatta circuit, and for the past three editions it has taken up and updated the traditional Trofeo Tramuntana, which was held years ago at the club as a single-handed round Cabrera regatta. For the last two years it has been held in a new format, with the emphasis on time spent and a more social focus, with the participation of cruising boats and, since last year, with the fleet staying for one night in the National Park.
