It will take place at the Gala of Recognition of Sporting Merit, an event in which sportsmen and women such as Neus Ballester, Nacho Baltasar, Lluís Pérez, Ramón Villalonga, Javier Hernández, Mireia Jordi and Sofía Salvá will be honored, as well as the cruiser class sailors who have obtained podium finishes in official regattas throughout the year and the champions of the year in the club's Saturday regattas, which bring together a fleet of more than 50 boats representing various clubs in Mallorca.
One of the leading sailors of the year that is ending and the one that is beginning is Nacho Baltasar, who in 2023 achieved, with his result in the IQFOIL World Championship, the place for Spain in the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024, in which this class enters for the first time, and was then chosen by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) to represent Spain in the Games. At 19 years of age, he is the first CNR athlete to compete in the Olympics, which is a source of great pride for the entire club.
Back to Sa Ràpita, the club will have an important date from the 25th to the 28th of March, as it will host the IQFOIL Junior U17 and U19 and Techno 293 Spanish Cup. Over three days of competition, more than 160 sailors from 8 autonomous communities will meet at the CNR, competing in the U13, U15, U17 and Techno Plus categories. This event will serve the club as a logistical and organizational preparation for this year's big sporting event at the CNR: the IQFOIL Junior World Championship to be held from 26 October to 2 November, the club will host this competition for the first time, which will bring together some 400 sailors from 31 different countries for 6 days of racing. In addition, the club will host various regional competitions throughout the year, such as the Balearic ILCA4 and ILCA7 Championships (from the 11th to the 14th of January), the Balearic Techno 293 and IQFoil U17 and U19 Championships (2nd and 3rd of March).
At the same time, throughout the year the CNR will continue with its usual fishing calendar, with its emblematic ‘Trobades’ dedicated to different species and modalities, as well as with the original Records competition, active throughout 2024. In the field of cruising regattas, it will maintain its programme of Sabatinas, Solitaires Circuit, A2 Circuit and all the trophies with tradition and tradition that are held every year in the club. Finally, of course, the social events and activities with which the CNR promotes fraternization between members, friends and sympathizers every year will continue to occupy a special place in the club's calendar.
