A hundred kayakers will be at the event XXII Day of KAyaking of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni

The Club Nàutics San Antoni (CNSA) has hosted its annual summer traditional event and celebrated its XXII Day of Kayaking. This popular race celebrates its 20 year anniversary, which is celebrated the 2nd of September, at the margin on the parties of Sant Bartomeu, and it usually gathers around a hundred people that are searching for fun, entertainment and contact with the sea, with the Bay of Portmany as a backdrop.

In the year of 2000, Pepín Valdés and Neus Mateu, delegate and technician, respectively from the section of Kayaking at the CLub Nàutic Sant Antoni, proposed to organize the 1st edition of the Day of Kayaking, that started from Caló des Moro in direction Cala Salada, with a total of 60 participants. The event was a great success that it continues nowadays. Small things have changed since the first experience, starting and arriving points, an alternative route. The format is maintained with identical rules. The years of 2019 and 2020, with the excuse of the construction work of Es Nàutic and due to the pandemic covid-19, there was no other option than to rest those years, but with the returning of normal life in 2021, it was resumed the XX edition and in the past years it has been celebrated as per usual.  

The route as per usual, will start from the facilities of the CNSA, with direction to Racó del Salt d’en Portes, next to the Aquarium of es Cap Blanc, to later  return to Es Nàutic. The Nàutic. The activity is directed to the young ones from 12 years old and adults even though those that are 12 and 16 years old need to be accompanied. The event has a duration of 3 and 4 hours and will start between 9h and 9:30h, with the registration and access control of the facility of the CNSA. The boarding of the canoes will start at between 9:30 and 10h, and the sport route will begin between 10:30h and 13h, approximately. At 13:30h, already at the facilities of the Sport Area of the CNSA, a raffle will be celebrated between all the participants with dozens of presents, including a sea kayak.

It is recommended that they are well equipped (swimsuit, licra or a t-shirt, short pants,shoes or rubber shoes or neoprene, sun cream and a hat), as well as a change of clothes, towel, water and a snack.
