The Trofeo Nàutica Tramuntana is an outstanding event on the calendar of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR) that combines sporting and social aspects. On the 20th and 21st of April it will begin its third adventure between Sa Ràpita and Cabrera with time reversed.

The Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR) is preparing to hold the third edition of the Nàutica Tramuntana cruising regatta on the 20th and 21st of April. The event, which will bring together some thirty boats, most of them based at the CNR, but also from other clubs such as CN S'Estanyol and CN Porto Colom, will consist of two races between Sa Rápita and Cabrera, one outward and one return, after sailing around the island and spending the night there.

Saturday's race, the outward leg to Cabrera and the return to the island, will be carried out with an inverted time, with a staggered and individual start for each boat depending on its characteristics and rating, so that the first one to reach the finish line will be the winner, instead of all of them starting at the same time and compensating the time invested afterwards, as is usually done. However, Sunday's race, Cabrera's return to the club, will be held with the traditional time compensation using RI Rating.

Around a hundred sailors will take part in the meeting, which will be held in an atmosphere of great camaraderie between sailors and will include a picnic in the Cabrera picnic area to socialize and discuss the day before spending the night on this emblematic island.

As for Sunday, after spending the night in Cabrera, the entire fleet will set sail back to the CNR at 11am, arriving at the club during the day. "This format, designed for the enjoyment of the sailors, enhances the social dimension of the regatta. The boats arrive at more or less the same time, so that they can get together and have a picnic in the picnic area. Afterwards, everyone goes to their boats to rest for the next day, although, like last year, the younger ones will take a little longer," says Xisco Lladó, owner of Nàutica Tramuntana, the company sponsoring the event.

"In the past, it was a solo round Cabrera. Now, there are crews, couples and people who do it solo, making it more family-oriented, social and festive. We were very happy with how it went last year, and that's why we wanted to repeat the same format", he adds.

"It is a very complete and profitable activity, both from a competitive and social point of view," says Miki Bover, sports director of the CNR. "For the organization of the event, the club has the full collaboration of the team of the National Maritime-Terrestrial Park of the Cabrera Archipelago, providing all the facilities for the processing of the buoys, the stay of the fleet and all the details of the meeting, something that we at the club want to thank", he emphasizes.

The Trofeo Náutica Tramuntana is one of the events on the CNR's regatta circuit and takes up and updates the traditional Tramuntana Trophy, which was held years ago at the club as a solo round Cabrera regatta. For the last two years, it has been held in a renewed format with a more social focus, with the participation of cruising boats and, since last year, with the fleet staying for one night in the National Park.

"The organization of the regatta by the CNR is always impeccable and from Nàutica Tramuntana we would like to thank the entire team for their effort, dedication and excellence", Xisco Lladó points out.
