Alba III winns the regatta Mahon-Fornells

"Alba III" skippered by Carlos María Pons Vidal won on Sunday in a regatta marked by the lack of wind on the way to the Club Náutico de Fornells.

The lack of wind last weekend was very costly in the Mahón - Fornells Regatta organized by the Club Marítimo de Mahón (CM Mahón). The relative calm forced the eleven registered sailboats to show their best in a crossing that at times was longer than the 19 nautical miles that connect the two clubs. The Mahón sailor Carlos María Pons Vidal was the most skilful and took the win with a time of 6:49:19. 

The club started the race at 11 o'clock on Sunday in the direction of the Club Náutico de Fornells. The lack of wind meant that five of the eleven registered sailors gave up their mission to sail between the two clubs. 

The first to arrive was Pedro Gardés' 'Salty Girl' (17:48:43), closely followed by Pons Vidal's 'Alba III' (17:49:19). After the time compensation, the victory went to Pons Vidal (6:49:19) while Gardés was second (+8:16) and Mireia García's 'Rupit' was third (+12:11). 

Eduardo Crusells' 'Foraster' (13:46), Pere Triay's 'Va Bien' (20:46) and Virginia Petrus' 'Sukita' (22:30) completed the competition.
