The competition, held last weekend, was characterized by varying wind conditions which generated strong currents for the 49 participating boats from five different continents. Tinoco and Hens won 6 of the eight races and placed second in the other two, finishing with a total of 6 points, ahead of the second-place finishers, Herman and Dann Vandormael, with 22 points, and the Japanese sailors Yohei Koso and Haruna Egawa with 23 points.
Tinoco himself explains that this competition “has helped us a lot in preparation for the Snipe World Championship in Argentina. It was very important and has given us a lot of morale and encouragement to continue training towards the goal of going as far as possible.”
