ANEN to organise the ICOMIA/IFBSO 2025 Congress in Palma

The annual ICOMIA/IFBSO 2024 Congress has been held in La Rochelle since last Sunday and concluded with the General Assembly, where the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) has been designated as the organiser of the 2025 edition of this event which will take place in Palma from 25th to 29th of May.

The Congress was attended by the general director of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco, and the Association's technical advisor, José Luis Fayos, also president of the ICOMIA Sustainability Committee on behalf of ANEN. The session of this Committee discussed the initiatives and emerging technologies to reduce carbon emissions and other emissions in the marine industry, including new materials and propulsion systems, presented projects and partnerships to promote sustainable practices, both in nautical sports facilities and in shipyards and dry docks, and was presented by representatives of ANEN, the TECONAUT project.

Other issues that have occupied the different sessions of the Congress have been: strategies to promote exports in the yachting industry, challenges in the management and organisation of boat shows, strategies to attract new yachting enthusiasts, evaluation of the current technical standards and regulations, proposing updates and improvements for safety and efficiency in the yachting sector, analysis of market trends, etc.

As hosts of the event, Jean-Paul Chapeleau, President of FIN (French Nautical Industries Federation) presented the situation of the French nautical market and the Federation's projects, highlighting the importance of international collaboration.
