The event consisted of eight races held on Saturday, with thermal winds (Embat) reaching about 12 knots. However, Sunday’s races were canceled due to a lack of wind. This marks the first Balearic Wingfoil Championship, a rapidly growing sailing category.

Ángel Candel dominated the competition, winning all eight races. Benjamin Burillo from CV Formentera secured second place, while Fernando Salgado from CN s’Arenal finished third. Among the younger competitors, Leya Seguí (RCNPP) stood out, winning the under-19 category.

Candel praised Wingfoil as the future of sailing, stating that it is the most innovative class. He highlighted the appeal of Wingfoil, saying, “It’s a small setup, just an inflatable sail and a board, so you can launch from the beach or port and sail anywhere you want, giving you a great sense of freedom.”

Saúl Gabarro, the technical manager of the Foil section at RCNPP, reflected on the event, noting the success in the event's participation and emphasizing that the Bay of Pollença is “perfect for these flying boats because we have flat water almost every day and thermal winds between 12 and 14 knots, which are ideal conditions.”
