The 58th Nautical Week of Alicante, which brought together more than a hundred sailors from the Europa, ILCA, and 420 classes from December 6 to 8 at the 'La Cantera' venue of the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, was intense with the weather playing a major role due to very variable winds over the three days of competition.

Nonetheless, sailing took place every day, completing the schedule with nine races for the Europe and 420 classes, eight for the ILCA 6 and ILCA 4, and seven for the ILCA 7.
The Europa class made its debut at the Nautical Week of Alicante as a qualifying regatta for the Spain Cup. The heavy favorite, the champion of Spain for the last two years, Ramon Figueras from Palamós, led from start to finish. However, in the last few days, French sailor Richard Cyril (CV d’Arcachon), who won four of the eight races, attempted to challenge his victory. A black flag disqualification that he discarded and a tenth place ultimately relegated him to second place, unable to match the consistent performance of Figueras, whose worst position had been fourth. The third place and female champion was Anna Musatova from the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx.
On December 21st, the Nautical Week for ORC and Promo cruiser classes will be held, and light sailing will return in 2025 with the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante as one of the venues for the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week featuring the ILCA 4 -Autonomic Cup- and WingFoil (February 21-23) and 470 -Spanish Championship- and 420 (February 27 to March 2).
