The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) has decided, at its latest meeting held yesterday, February 25th in Palma, to award the management of the mooring posts at the Quarantine Pontoon in the port of Palma to the company D Marin Spain SA. The pontoon will provide a total of 69 moorings, with slightly more than half intended for charter boats between 10 and 15 meters in length. The remaining moorings will accommodate vessels ranging from 22 to 40 meters in length.

The concession includes sustainability measures such as the installation of solar pergolas capable of generating 162,000 kWh annually, which will cover 20% of the energy demand. Measures will also be implemented to reduce water and electricity consumption, as well as enhancements to marine biodiversity through the detection and removal of pollutants.

These improvements will equip the Quarantine Pontoon with modern and sustainable infrastructure, contributing to the excellence of the Port of Palma as a reference point for recreational vessel mooring management.

The concession area consists of one hundred ninety linear meters of docking space, plus a "T"-shaped pontoon measuring 125 meters in length. There will also be an auxiliary floating pontoon reserved for service vessels, such as those used for cleaning the water surface, surveillance, and marina support, without commercial exploitation.

The concession is granted for a period of six years, with an estimated investment of one million euros (VAT included). The annual occupation fee amounts to more than 350,000 euros (excluding VAT), plus an activity rate of 4%.
