October 24, International Day Against Climate Change, is a key date to reflect on the urgent need to protect our planet against the devastating effects of climate change. Global warming, rising sea levels, and the loss of marine biodiversity are just some of the serious consequences that are already affecting our ecosystems.

Committed to education and environmental awareness, Palma Aquarium launches its special program "Art For Action," a series of activities that invite visitors to use art as a means of awareness and protest to fight against climate change.

Among the highlighted activities, visitors can enjoy a live painting session in the Mediterranean gardens, collaborating with the artist Art is Life, where each brushstroke will symbolize the commitment to environmental protection. Additionally, they can participate in the painting workshop and #ARTFORACTION contest, supported by the School of Art and Higher Design of the Balearic Islands (EASDIB), where visitors will create artworks with tempera paints and can enter a contest to win an Ocean Pass, an annual pass to Palma Aquarium, by posting their drawings on social media with the hashtag #ARTFORACTION.

The Experience ACTION Labs will offer the opportunity to interact with the Ocean Experts and learn about the impacts of climate change in the Mediterranean, coral reefs, and sharks, through immersive educational experiences. There will also be live demonstrations of marine animal feedings, such as sharks, octopuses, rays, and turtles, while the Ocean Experts share interesting facts about these species.

Another educational activity will be the Ocean Quiz Roulette, where visitors will test their knowledge about climate change and the oceans in two scheduled sessions in the Mini Theater. Lastly, in collaboration with the Palma Aquarium Foundation, the interactive workshop "The Sea and Our Future" will be conducted, helping participants understand how our daily decisions impact marine life and how we can act to protect the oceans.
