The boat rental market in the Balearic Islands has also shown signs of regression in 2024. Until October, the archipelago registered 461 vessels intended for charter, a decrease of 22.8% compared to last year. Even so, the Balearic Islands continue to comfortably lead this segment, which represents more than a quarter of charter registrations in the country.
In the comparison by provinces, the Balearic Islands clearly lead the recreational boat market in Spain, accumulating 18.15% of the total national registrations until October 2024, far ahead of Barcelona and Madrid, which occupy the second and third positions with 11.2% and 6.8%, respectively.
In the charter segment, the gap is even more pronounced: the archipelago captures 27.2% of the registrations of rental boats in Spain, while Barcelona and Girona are significantly behind, with shares of 12% and 8.6% respectively.
