The Spanish nautical market closed the first quarter of 2025 with a total of 841 registrations of recreational boats, a 15.9% decrease compared to the same period last year, when 1,000 units were registered, according to the monthly report prepared by the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) with data from the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine.

The archipelago recorded 129 registrations in the first three months of the year, consolidating itself as the province with the highest activity in the sector. However, this figure represents a 30.6% decline compared to the 186 units registered in the first quarter of 2024.
In comparison, Barcelona ranks second with 101 registrations and a market share of 12%. Alicante, in third place, maintains its 74 registrations, with a market share of 8.8%.
The boat rental segment, which accounts for nearly 30% of the total market, also experienced a decline. Nationwide, registrations for charter use dropped sharply from 350 in the first quarter of last year to 249 by March 2025.
The Balearic Islands continue to be the benchmark in this sector, with 75 registrations for rental use, although this reflects a 28.6% decrease. Barcelona ranks second, with a growth of 45.8%.
