After four days of competition in the waters of Alicante, the sailor from the Real Club Náutico of Palma, David Ponseti was awarded the title of Spanish champion of the class ILCA 7 in the category Sub21.

Gonzalo Suárez from Alicante reached the last day of the ILCA 7 Nationals with a comfortable lead, although with three races to go he could not lose sight of his pursuers and closed the championship with a 1-2 to confirm his clear victory.
The second overall place was for the sailor from the Club Nàutic S’Arenal, Pep Caazador, winner of the Spanish Championship and Cup in 2022, which started the championship in an irregular way. It went from not very strong to strong, finishing with a 2-9-7 record, which helped it to the runner-up position.
The third position was given to the sailor from the Club Náutico of Ibiza, Carlos Roselló, with a 10-11-13 finals, which made him get advantage on the absolute podium over Ponseti, champion
In the ILCA 7 Olympic Week in Alicante have participated a total of 67 sailors from five different countries: Germany, Belgium, Spain, Great Britain and Poland. And for the Spanish Championship from seven territorial federations: Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia and Murcia.
The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, one of the four venues of the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week 2024, brought forward one week the competition for the ILCA 7 - which next week will compete in the European Championship in Athens (Greece) - to continue the competition for the rest of the classes next February 16th, 17th and 18th with the ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and 420 classes.
