Well, it's time to form your own crew and seek your fortune in the seas of the Caribbean. But don't put on your patch just yet, because we're talking about video games, specifically "Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale".

This exciting video game takes players on a pirate adventure on the high seas. Developed by independent studio Inland Studios, "Tortuga" immerses players in a world of piracy, treasure and danger, just like "Port Royale 4", set in the seas of the Caribbean during the 17th century, a time when piracy was common on the region's seas. In Tortuga, players can become a pirate and explore the islands of the Caribbean, fight against other pirates, plunder enemy ships and search for hidden treasures... and our mission in Tortuga will be to become the most feared and respected pirate in the region.

To represent a pirate story, the navigation must be one of the principle mechanics, we will prove that we have more liberty than in “Port Royale 4”, since we can move freely around the map with the keys of direction of our keyboard or of our controller. Furthermore, we must take into account the wind to optimize our velocity and this detail can be the factor to hunt some unsuspecting brigantine or who knows if it is sailing with a cargo of gold.

"Tortuga" offers us an open world in which we will have infinite possibilities to become the most famous pirate in the Caribbean. On the one hand, we have the campaign mode, which is the main storyline of the game, and the objective is to raid a Spanish galleon of the Fleet of the Indies. However, as could not be otherwise, these ships are heavily protected, so we will have to form a fleet of ships captained by the most skilled sailors. To do so, we will have to complete secondary missions that will allow us to hire captains and improve our fleet.

To be the most feared pirate it is of vital importance to have a strong and loyal crew that we must lead to victory. But be careful because life at sea can be very hard and we will have to keep our crew in high spirits and always happy so that they don't throw us overboard. To do this, our boats must always be loaded with food and rum, and we must also make promises to them to increase their sympathy towards us. Although our crew will not only live on alcohol and promises, it will also be necessary to distribute the booty so that they have gold to spend.

To reach our objective we need large amounts of gold, and the colonial powers will usually not make it easy for us. We can always try to intimidate them to see if we get lucky, but usually we will have to fight in fast-paced naval battles. The naval combat system is very similar to that of "Port Royale 4", as it is turn-based on a hexagonal map. However, it introduces certain changes such as the possibility of boarding our enemies to steal their ships or a system of armor that we must destroy before being able to sink colonial ships. In addition to these new features, there is also the need to reload the ammunition of the cannons, as they work independently and we will have to maneuver quickly to shoot on the most favorable side of the ship while the rest reloads.

"Tortuga: A Pirate's Tale" offers a similar proposal to "Port Royale 4" but with a focus more on action than management. Despite this, we will also be able to continue trading, but the goods will be those that we manage to steal from enemy ships.
