The new concession of services for the beaches of Calvià foresees the opening of more months of the year in order to extend the season and reduce the seasonality curve.

The concession is pending the corresponding legal study and the documents are expected to be published before the end of the year. This measure is part of the Calvià 365 strategic plan that is being promoted by the municipal executive.
From London, where he is participating in the World Travel Market, the mayor of the municipality, Juan Antonio Amengual, has announced that the new concession means that the chosen beaches "will have lifeguards and cleaning services, maybe not with all the sun loungers and parasols, but available to the public. We have 300 days of sun and good weather and it makes no sense to keep the beaches closed. These beaches can become our parks for residents and tourists to enjoy".
The mayor insisted that "the necessary months will be maintained for the regeneration of the posidonia and the environmental care of the beaches".
