What is the greenhouse effect? Or how do air masses move? These are some of the questions that will be answered in the 'Meteolab' workshop on meteorology and climate, coming to Calvià on March 31 and April 1, within the framework of the scientific dissemination project Ciudad Ciencia, promoted by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), with sessions aimed at primary school students from CEIP Ses Quarterades and Ses Rotes Velles.

This workshop, developed and taught by researchers from the Institute of Geosciences (CSIC UCM), invites participants to discover geosciences in a fun and participatory way. It consists of a series of workshops where fundamental concepts about the physics of the atmosphere and climate will be explained through simple experiments.

Among the topics, participants will explore aspects related to climate change, wind, pressure and temperature, precipitation and clouds, or the ocean.

Ciudad Ciencia was launched in March 2012 and collaborates with 59 municipalities to allow residents of Spanish towns to firsthand learn about current scientific and technological developments.
