The Club Marítimo San Antonio of the beach of Can Pastilla (CMSAP) hosts this weekend the organization of the Copa Federacions de Optimist, which counts towards the regional ranking of this children's class.

The Federacions Cup is the first of the three events, along with the Illes Balears Trophy and the School Finals, which are used to select the members of the Balearic Optimist team that will participate in the Spanish Championship of the class.
The Optimist Federacions Cup will be held over three days, starting on Friday at 13:00 and culminating on Sunday, with the first start scheduled for 11:00 in the morning. The organizers have planned a maximum of nine races, three per day to decide the best sailors in the Cup.
The trophy ceremony will take place on Sunday at 17:00h. It will be the moment to recognise the good work of the sailors. To this end, awards will be presented to the best in the Under 16, Under 13 and also for the Under 11, the young sailors who have started competing this season.
The technical director of the Can Pastilla sailing club, Antoni Durán, emphasizes the club's commitment to grassroots sport: "For us, the main objective is to promote sailing as a sport, not only in Mallorca, but also in the Balearic Islands, and also by organizing top-level international regattas such as the Trofeo Princesa Sofía and the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta".
