By signing this agreement, Club de Mar Mallorca joins a network of Balearic nautical clubs dedicated to protecting marine flora and fauna.

In addition to the agreement, the club made a donation to the Palma Aquarium Foundation. This contribution will fund various initiatives aimed at safeguarding the seabed of the Balearic Islands.

One of the most notable actions within the agreement is the installation of a temporary holding tank for sea turtles at the club. This permanent tank will serve as a safe and comfortable place for stranded, injured, or deceased turtles found by club members or nearby navigators.

When a turtle is found and placed in the tank, personnel must contact the foundation's rescue team and notify the emergency services at 112 to ensure the turtle is rescued as quickly as possible.

The agreement also includes provisions for the foundation to provide educational materials and environmental activities for the club to offer its members and employees.

Débora Morrison, director of the Palma Aquarium Foundation, stated, "Collaboration from all sectors of society is crucial for the conservation and protection of marine ecosystems. Everyone can help in some way. The annual campaigns by nautical clubs and ports are gaining more importance each year. These campaigns also have a social aspect within the local community, providing donations to continue preserving the Balearic Sea and its unique and extraordinary biodiversity."

Borja de la Rosa, president of Club de Mar-Mallorca, affirmed, "Joining the 'Alliance for the Seas' is part of our sustainability strategy outlined in our roadmap. It is essential for our sector and society to promote actions aimed at preserving and caring for the marine environment."
