This legendary regatta designed for the Cruiser class, recently recovered by the club, has 18 boats and 36 sailors participating in this edition, who have set sail in weather conditions marked by low wind intensity.
"We are very happy with the high participation we have achieved in this edition. It shows that this emblematic and traditional race generates a lot of expectation and we are on the way to it becoming a benchmark regatta in the Balearic and national sailing calendar, A2 regattas," said Miki Bover, sports director of the CNR.
"It is a very special and different regatta and is a perfect plan for cruising sailors who want to experience a sailing adventure and test their skills. The route is magnificent and has everything to enjoy sailing for several days", he adds. In addition, in order to encourage the participation of boats from other clubs, the participating boats have free mooring rights at the CNR for 7 days, to choose between the days before or after the regatta.
In its beginnings, this veteran regatta, created decades ago by several amateurs linked to the club, consisted of a single-handed course from the club to the Isla del Aire in Menorca and back. Now, after its reactivation in 2023 after some years without taking place, it offers a round trip to Ciutadella, and from there, to head to the island of Cabrera and return to the club. After the regatta, the first three classified in each class will receive a trophy.
