The Consell de Mallorca has organized, this Saturday, through the Maritime Museum of Mallorca, a walk through the Molinar to know the neighborhood and discover the fishing memory of its streets.
VISIT OUR ONLINE TV AND EXPERIENCE THE SEA IN FIRST PERSON, WHEREVER AND WHENEVER YOU WANTAlmost a hundred people have participated in the activity El Molinar, seafaring fabric, a walk that has had family and friends of former fishermen of the neighborhood. The objective is to take the museum out of the usual walls and bring it to other areas. Memory has been made and many stories have been told as a result of hundreds of hours of interviews and recovery of objects.
The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councilor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, participated in the walk and explained that this activity "helps to preserve the intangible and cultural heritage of the neighborhood". She also thanked the volunteers who have been part of this project in recent months, and celebrated the success of the tour, which has been followed by about a hundred people, although it was initially planned for 30 attendees. In fact, the participants had to be divided into two groups.
The tour began at the old Molinar oil plant and has passed through places like the esplanade of the nets, the bust of Aurora Picornell, the new church of Molinar and the caló de en Rigo.
