Last weekend, the Winter Championship of Spain took place in Seville, attended by a team of eight Junior paddlers from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, some of whom achieved good results. "We went to Seville full of excitement and nerves, after several long months of preparation. The commitment and fight of our boys and girls was total, but, as always in a competition as demanding and complicated as this one, there was a bit of everything in terms of results," says coach Eduardo Prendes.

The standouts throughout the weekend were undoubtedly Raúl Prendes and Álvaro Rubio, registering very good performances, both in the qualifying round on Saturday, March 15, and in the final on Sunday, March 16. The Junior Men's K1 event was the largest of the Championship, with 149 entries. After the qualifying rounds on Saturday, only the top 60 from these qualifiers made it to Sunday's final.

These were the results of the CNSA Junior representatives: Raúl Prendes 20th, Álvaro Rubio 33rd, Noel López 45th, María Gallego 48th, Valentina Rodríguez 58th (after capsizing), Roy Kikozashvili did not qualify for the final (43rd in the qualifying round), Ilhan Velasco did not qualify for the final (52nd in the qualifying round), and Facundo González: did not qualify for the final (66th in the qualifying round, after capsizing).

It is also worth mentioning the female paddlers Claudia Vidal, who finished in sixth position in the under-23 category, and Raquel Carbajo, who finished in eighth position in the senior women's category, both from Club Marítimo de Mahón. Also, Vinca Escandell, also from the same club, positioned 15th in the senior men's category.

This coming weekend the CNSA team will attend the Spanish Half Marathon Championship in Aranjuez, and from there will start focusing on the track season.
