Registrations will start on March 12 and any 'colla' from the Pityusic Islands can participate. There will also be live music with Eribertho Cruz and a popular rice dish.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERAfter the success obtained in the first two editions, which created a great atmosphere at the facilities of Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, comes the III edition of the Creative and Solidarity Arroz a Banda Championship. The contest was first organized in 2023, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Club, and the large influx of public and participating teams led the board of CNSA to establish it as an annual event, open to all the public on the island, both to compete and just to attend and enjoy the day.
On the designated day, the 'colles' will start preparing their dishes from 12 noon and, at the same time, a kitchen team from Es Nàutic restaurant will prepare a monumental rice dish for 200 guests, for the benefit of the Ibiza IN association, which all attendees can enjoy at popular prices. Registrations for teams wanting to participate must be made in person at the Es Nàutic cafeteria, on March 12, 13, and 14, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Up to a maximum of 25 'colles' can participate.
The contestants will be set up on the central pontoon of Es Nàutic and the organization will provide them with a canopy and a bar. All teams that want to participate must pay 20 euros, which will also be donated to Ibiza IN. Teams will have a maximum of eight members, regardless of whether other friends and family members come to enjoy their preparation. They must prepare a minimum of one kilo of rice and deliver a dish to the jury at a time that will be previously indicated. This championship is organized by the same team that prepares the World d’Arròs de Matances Contest every year. The Ibiza IN Association will also set up a sweets stand and organize several raffles among the audience.
The winners will earn the right to enjoy a paella for eight people at the Es Nàutic restaurant, on the date they decide within the year 2025 (drinks not included). In addition, the second-place winners will also receive a paella for four people under the same previous conditions, and the third-place winners, a box of wine. A prize will also be awarded to the 'colla' with the best atmosphere and decoration, which will consist of a course for four people in canoeing, sailing, or windsurfing, within the training calendar organized by the Sports Area of the CNSA.
After the award ceremony, also on the central pontoon, a concert by the Eribertho Cruz Band will be held. The Cuban Eribertho Cruz is one of the most prestigious Latin music artists in Ibiza and has performed in the best live music venues on the island, such as the old Pereyra Theater, and on multiple stages around the world. Some of the world's best DJs have held sessions with his percussion and voice as the main ingredient; among them Rogerm Sánchez.
