A hundred paddlers from different nautical clubs of the Balearic Islands have gathered this weekend at the Club Sant Antoni to compete in the 1st Sea Balearic Kayak Cup of the season.

The paddlers of the categories, cadet, junior and senior, have done 10 kilometers, which linked the breakwater of the port of Sant Antoni with the islet of Cala Salada and back. It was quite a tough crossing, due to the swell that was recorded during the race and which came from different directions, varying in sections. The route for the children was three kilometers, between the dyke and the Aquarium de es Cap Blanc, returning to the starting point.

Raúl Prendes and Ilhan Velasco (SS2 Junior Men) did an extraordinary race, leading the competition from start to finish, and the victory of Daniel Sánchez (SS1 Senior Men), on his return to Es Nàutic. There was also an impressive duel in SS1 Junior Men between Noel López and Álvaro Rubio, both from the Sant Antoni team, and there were other brilliant victories, such as those of Facundo González (Cadet A Men), Valentina Rodríguez (Cadet A Women) and Laura Rubio (Infantil B Women).

The total medals obtained by the CNSA paddlers were as follows: Raúl Prendes and Ilhan Velasco gold in SS2 Junior Men and silver for Marc Boned and Tristán García Arzberger in the same category. Lázaro Noel López gold in SS1 Junior Men and silver for Álvaro Rubio. Gold for Daniel Sánchez in SS1 Senior Men, bronze for Toni Prats. Facundo González gold in SS1 Men Cadet A and bronze for Roy Kikozashvili. Laura Rubio won in SS1 Women Infantil B, being second Lara Ribas.
