Everything Ready for the 20th Edition of BeachPolo Sant Josep

The 20th edition of the beach water polo tournament organized by the Sant Josep Town Council is now underway. The goal is to promote sports tourism that enjoys the beaches and nature of the municipality.

This weekend, July 6th and 7th, the beach of Port des Torrent will host the twelve teams participating in the 20th edition of BeachPolo Sant Josep. Due to the high demand for participation in the competition, the tournament's organization had to hold a lottery among all the clubs interested in playing water polo in a setting different from the usual pools. Thus, clubs from Italy, Great Britain, and Spain will participate in this international competition, which for many serves as the season finale.

The teams that have secured a spot in this edition are:

- Universidad Politécnica de Valencia 2004. This team consists of players who participated in the first edition of the Josepí tournament and have reunited to participate in this summer's edition.

- Club Waterpolo Otarrainxka. A Valencian team with several participations in the tournament.

- London Poly Porks. A club playing in the English first division that has finally secured a spot in the 'BeachPolo' after several years of trying.

- Club Natació Igualada. The Catalan club players return to the competition after years of absence.

- Club Waterpolo Valdepeñas. The Manchego club repeats participation after debuting in the 2023 edition.

- Real Canoe Máster. A team made up of veterans from the historic Madrid club.

- TM PN Moie. The Italian squad debuts in the BeachPolo.

- Club Natació Terrassa Máster. A mixed team largely composed of master category players.

- C.W. El Olivar/Mañicos. A team from Zaragoza participating in the Ibiza event for the first time.

- Club Natación L'Hospitalet. Familiar faces at the tournament with 9 championship victories.

- Club Natación San José. The host team also collaborates with the Sports Department of the Sant Josep Town Council in organizing the event.

- Club Natación Rubí/Moonteam. The team that will defend the throne won in the 2023 edition.

Since its first edition in 2004, the tournament has been entirely organized by the Sports Department of the Sant Josep Town Council and sponsored by the Tourism Council. It is worth remembering that the ultimate goal of 'BeachPolo' is to promote sports tourism that enjoys our beaches and nature. The tournament organizers are delighted with the large number of teams that show interest in participating year after year.

To make this summer's edition more attractive, the Sant Josep Town Council is working on organizing various parallel activities to celebrate this anniversary.

The 'BeachPolo' has succeeded in promoting Ibiza to the water polo world. The high demand for participation requests received each year by the Sports Department, many from outside Spain, is proof of this.
