This morning, December 12, the jury of the 30th edition of the 'Sea Week' has graded a total of 38 projects created by fifth-grade classrooms from 24 schools across the island, resulting in high participation.
FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES AND RECEIVE UPDATES FROM "PASSION FOR THE SEA"The jury members have decided to award the highest score to 'Filomena', a moray eel created by the students of group B from CEIP Sant Jordi. The project received a total of 87 points, followed by group A from the same school, whose mascot 'Flambel' scored 72 points.
The rest of the schools classified, adding up to a total of ten, were Es Vedrà A (60 points), Santíssima Trinitat (50), Guillem de Montgrí B (44), Can Coix A (41), Can Guerxo (32), Can Coix B (30), Portal Nou (28), and Cervantes A (27).
The ten winning classrooms, comprising a total of 199 students and 16 teachers, will enjoy their week of activities between January 13 and March 28. The schools presented their mascots along with a digital dossier containing images and/or videos explaining the development of the work and the importance of their mascot within the marine ecosystem. All this material was evaluated by the jury members. The classrooms not selected will receive their compensation with the activity 'A day at the sea' or the future Setmana Blava, organized by the Balearic Government.
The works will be displayed in the lobby of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni social headquarters, so that the participants and their families can enjoy them and make their own assessments. The 'Sea Week' is an environmental education and coexistence activity aimed at students aged 10 and 11, in fifth grade. It also includes special sessions for students with special educational needs. It is organized by the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, sponsored by the Conselleria de Esports i Juventut del Consell Insular d’Eivissa, the Caixa d‘Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona (La Caixa), and the Sant Antoni Town Hall, with the collaboration of the Conselleria de Mediambient i Educació del Govern Balear.
