Five sailors from the Balearic Islands to compete in the Techno 293 European Championship.

Of the 23 Spanish sailors competing in the Techno 293 European Championship, held in the U13, U15, U17, and U19 categories, 5 are from the Balearic Islands. They are Biel Martorell Blasco and Joshua León Castro from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, and Joan Servera, Mariona Moragues, and Fernando Terrasa from Club Nàutic s’Arenal.

The event is taking place in the Italian waters of Ostia, in the province of Rome, under the organization of Lega Navale. The racing schedule includes a maximum of 15 races. The first starting signal will sound on Thursday, April 17, and the final one is scheduled for Monday, April 21.

Spain is the fifth country with the most participants in this continental championship, behind host nation Italy (112), Hungary (32), Greece (31), and Turkey (26).

The delegation of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation consists of 12 sailors in the U15 and U13 categories. The Balearic sailors Biel Martorell Blasco and Joan Servera, along with Andalusian Olivia Sánchez and Canary Islander Cristina Iglesias, are part of the national A team, together with U13 sailors Alejandro Cuesta (Catalan Federation) and Mariona Moragues (Balearic Federation).

Additionally, competing in the European Championship as part of the national C team are: Joshua León Castro (Balearic Federation), Concepción Montesinos (Valencian), Jorge Brotons (Valencian), Sofía Álvarez (Canary Islands), Fernando Terrasa (Balearic Federation), and Marcos Dasilva (Galician).

The coaches accompanying the Spanish delegation are Gonzalo Boronat and Fernando García Iglesias.
