Capitanía Marítima of Palma has approved this ordinance due to the interest that raised the sunk ship between swimmers and other boats, that is accessed to its interior without valuing the possible dangers. These dangers were already warned by the underwater activities group of the Guardia Civil on August 22, given the current state of the vessel.
In view of the risks posed by the wreck for maritime safety, bathers and other vessels, in addition to this resolution, it has been signaled and a floating anti-pollution barrier has been installed.
It is worth remembering that last June 16th the British flagged vessel "ANNETTE ROSENKILDE" sank in the bay of Pollensa, with no oil pollution in the area, according to the General Emergency Report of Salvage-Maritime Emergency 2651/23 of the Coordination and Rescue Center (CCS) of Palma.
Although Capitanía Marítima of Palma has requested the owner to remove the vessel, it has not yet received any response and, therefore, has not taken any action in this regard, such as the possible refloating of the vessel.
