The first, is an exposition titled “STORIES OF OUR SEA”. It aims to discover the stories of the sea through winning images of the MARE 2022 with words, feelings and sensations of the participants of the last edition.

The relationship with the octopus at Ibiza, the incredible story of Pedro and his portrait of his humpback whale that was tried to be rescued in the east of Mallorca, many points of view of the millennial posidonia which is found at the Salines of Ibiza and Formentera o the outstanding caves that captivate us in Menorca, are some of the stories that are in the exposition.

Until the 10th of August, “STORIES OF OUR SEA”, will be at the Port of Ibiza (entrance of the Marina, Port Vell). Later on after the stop in Ibiza, will continue at Formentera and Menorca.

“The submarine photographic community of Ibiza is one of the most active and involved of the Balearic Islands. Its work, within MARE, opens up a window of a tool that is fantastic, unknown and at the same time familiar, that are our waters surrounding the island”, explained Abraham Calero, MARE Competition Manager.

The second exposition is a permanent one during the summer, located at the new Marine Station at Ibiza, at the Botafoc port, by the inspiration of the title “DO YOU LIVE FACING THE SEA?”. Through 45 captivating images of the contest MARE 2021 and a reflexive decalogue about what it implies to live in harmony with the sea, this exhibition invites all of us to join the Pacte Blau Balear, opening the door to a commitment together with the protection of our seas.

This exposition presents a new circular model focused on the optimization of the material resources which are used in the field of the culture, from the genesis to its end. With the measurement of the analytics of the cycle of life and the certification of the first EXPO “Carbon Neutral”, it is consolidated as a highlight in sustainability and climate action.

“The reduction of impacts must be integrated in the cultural activities related to the mediterranean sea, it is a strategic sector to boost the ecological transformation and decarbonize through the reutilization of the km0 materials and the awareness of the protection of our balearic sea among other visitants” points out Carlota Ortega responsible of Impact and RSC of TrueWorld.

“The two expositions that we will be able to enjoy in Ibiza will help to get to know our sea better. Its biodiversity, colors, the life that is underneath the surface and as misfortune, the contamination and the changes that are happening due to climate change” explains Antonio Beneyto, coordinator of the Marine forum.

“From the IbizaPreservation we believe that the visual arts have an important potential that refers to environmental awareness. Through the captivating images and videos of these expositions of MARE, we can get to all the sectors of the society, so that they know better our marine environment and so that they get excited about a great protection of this” adds Inma Saranova, director of IbizaPreservation.
