The Kakapo Open Race concludes the individual competition with the completion of the three scheduled races, fulfilling all nine planned regattas for the championship.

Weather conditions have been ideal, with a sunny day and winds between 10 and 12 knots from the south-southwest, allowing for intense and exciting competition.

In the women's category, Jana Mestre from Club Vela de Port Andratx has been crowned champion, securing the seventh position in the overall standings. She is joined on the podium by her clubmate Mari Carmen García in second place, and Anna Nadal from Club Vela l'Escala in third place.

Portuguese sailor João Pinto, the current world runner-up and sailor from Clube Naval de Portimão, had an exceptional championship, dominating from start to finish and securing the Kakapo Open Race title. British sailor Rory Mckinna from Clyde Cruising Club had a great day, regaining the second position he had lost to Daniel Llaca from Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, who ultimately finished in third place.

In the Spanish Championship of Adaptive and Inclusive Sailing, the podium remained unchanged from the previous day. Daniel Llaca was crowned champion of Spain, followed by Jordi Cargol in second place and Pau Toni Homar from Club Vela de Port Andratx in third. In the women's category, Jana Mestre was the champion.

Today, Friday, July 19, the mixed doubles competition will begin, where each team will consist of one person with a disability and one without. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday once this event concludes.

The Kakapo Open Race is organized by the Catalan Sailing Federation, the Barcelona Nautical Capital Foundation, and the Mi Alex Foundation. It is part of the Spanish Championship of Adaptive and Inclusive Sailing. The event is sponsored by Diagonal Mar and Clínica Mi Tres Torres, and supported by Barcelona Esports, Esportcat of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Hansa 303 Spain Association, the Hansa Class Association, the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, the Real Club Marítimo de Barcelona, the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, and Marina Port Fórum.
