Javier Sanz, new president of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands

The current president of the Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV), Javier Sanz, will be the new president of the Autoridad Portuaria de Baleares (APB), according to Gaceta Náutica.

Javier Sanz, who has been chosen for the position by the president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, was president of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, of the Organising Committee of the Copa del Rey Mapfre and has held various management positions linked to private enterprise. This proposed appointment must be ratified by Puertos del Estado and will be officially made public next Friday, after the Consell de Govern. 

The Balearic Islands Port Authority exercises the State's powers over the ports of Palma, Alcudia, Mahón, Ibiza and Formentera and reports to the Ministry of Transport.
