“Turning Calvià’s beaches into a jet ski circuit does not align at all with the sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism model we want for our municipality, nor with our Beaches Plan 2023-2027,” Monserrat pointed out. “We have 15 Q Quality Flags and therefore we are committed to responsible, peaceful leisure activities that are attractive to families and young couples. This is an important trend shift that we have observed and support.”

The new regulations have removed motorized elements from all the municipality’s beaches, with the sole exception of Magaluf. Additionally, the council has extended the buoy lines on several Calvià beaches, increasing the distance from the existing 90 meters to the maximum legal limit of 200 meters allowed by municipal regulations. This ensures safer beaches for swimmers and greater acoustic and environmental respect for the surroundings, safeguarding the numerous Posidonia seagrass meadows in our marine environments.
