The past month took place the final of XV Contest Balearic ‘Cazafotosub’ Apnea, a subaquatic photography competition of apnea which consisted of a total of three tests.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERThe final of the XV Contest of the Balearic ‘Cazafotosub’ Apnea was organized by the Balearic Federation of Subaquatic Activities, the Club Nàutic S’Arenal and the Club Sapema A.D. and have crowned Joan Sans as winner of the Balearic Islands as having a total of 200 points in the three tests contested, and to Ernestina Pons as feminine champion with 92,76 points.
Cala Maioris was the area where 15 participants submerged in this final, well equipped with their gear and cameras ready to take the best shot. Fish like the red scorpion, mullet fish, serrano fish, red mullet, eel and sting rays allowed to take theri portrait for this occasion.
In each of the tests, the participants could only present a maximum of 500 photographs, without any editing, so that the jury could evaluate the original images captured. This way, they have taken under consideration that the whole fish is in the photo, not only part of it, other than an artistic valoration.
The first tests took place at Menorca in May, at that contest Beata Hercsuth won the feminine category and Joan Cardona the mens. The second one, the Open Club Perlas Manacor occurred in June at the area of Cala Murada, the victorious were Joan Sans and Beata Hercsuth again.
