The Consell de Mallorca presented yesterday, December 16, in the Buenaventura de Llucmajor cloister, the "The Values of Sport" program, which this year will highlight as its awareness motto the pillars of respect, improvement, sports-family reconciliation, and resilience, aligning with the values of the institution's EsportNet campaign.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!These are workshops and talks done in collaboration with 12 elite Mallorcan athletes, reaching entities, associations, and educational centers. The event, hosted by Toni Terrades, presents the possibilities of the program, aiming to work not only in classrooms but also in auditoriums and telematically this season.
Three new professionals join the 2024 lecture lineup: Olympic kayaker Joan Toni Moreno; the Spanish, European, and world champion of underwater fishing, Malén Sart; and the Paralympic triathlete Álex Sánchez Palomero. They join a distinguished panel that includes first division and international referee Guillermo Cuadra; gymnast Cintia Rodríguez; athletes Bel Calero and Bernat Xamena; car and enduro racers, Sonia Ledesma and Joan Pau Segura; cyclists Mavi García and Joan Reinoso; and the blind hiker and spelunker Pedro González. The aim is for them to convey messages of respect, reconciliation, improvement, or the importance of sport as a healing tool and life driver.
The presentation was attended by the Second Vice President and Councilor for Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the Island Director, Toni Prats. Bestard highlighted that "the success of the program lies in the good work of the top-level protagonists, who are an example." He added that "this is why this program is already established within the educational field, and more and more children and young people are accessing it."
Bestard emphasized "the good work that can be done when institutions and athletes work together," and highlighted "young people internalize educational reinforcement messages faster if they receive them from reference figures."
"The Values of Sport" will reach nearly 6,000 children and young people in 2025 with 120 talks, a figure that grows year after year with the support of new athletes who also participate in the island values campaigns.
