Jordi Triay and Lluís Mas win the penultimate round of the Winter Series of the Club Marítimo Mahón

Four victories in four races served to decide a title that saw a fifth start on Sunday. The 'Chica Txeca' remains at the top of the competition with one race to go.

The fourth chapter of the Winter Series placed Jordi Triay and Lluís Mas at the top this weekend in a perfect Saturday with four victories out of a possible four. The duo, aboard 'Lô', won the four races sailed on Saturday in an event that was very marked by the storm and that was completed on Sunday with only one more start due to the lack of wind. The result allows them to close the gap in the general classification with Antonio Pons' and Claudia Pons' 'Chica Txeca', which continues to lead for yet another day.

On Saturday, the wind blew 15 knots with a 15º course, which meant that not all of the boats took the start. Eight of them did, with four victories for Jordi Triay and Lluís Mas in a race that took place inside the Port of Mahón. This solidity allowed them on Sunday, with about 7 knots of wind, not to see their victory in danger, despite finishing the only race that was disputed in seventh place and a total of 45 points. 

Antonio Pons and Claudia Pons were second with 36 points between the two days, while the bronze medal went to Totto Hardmann and Laia Garcia with 33 points, tied on points with Peter Saura and Joan Riera, but with better performances for the former.

After these results, the 'Chica Txeca' remains at the top of the table after four trophies disputed with 339 points, closely followed by the 'Sausin' of David Saura and Mireia Garcia, with 332 and closes the third step of the podium Jordi Triay and Lluís Mas, with 308 points.

The fifth and final race of the Winter Series 2023-24 will take place on 16th and 17th of March in the port of Mahón, when the winning pair will be announced.
