Jordi Triay and Sara Franceschi, winners of the Artiem Snipe Circuit Spring Cup

Jordi Triay and Sara Franceschi had a perfect Spring Cup of the Artiem Snipe Circuit. Three victories in the three races that took place put them at the top at the end of Sunday, in a weekend marked by poor sailing conditions that meant that only one race could be sailed on Saturday and another two on Sunday.

In fact, the lack of wind and the amount of waves meant that the Race Committee moved the course on Sunday from the entrance to the inner harbor, where Triay and Franceschi remained at the top ahead of the 21 boats taking part.

On Saturday, only one race was held, at the exit of the port and with unfavorable conditions due to the lack of wind, which meant that the course was shortened and then the day was closed in the hope of improvements on Sunday. The following morning, the tone was maintained on the race course with little wind and a lot of waves, and after waiting, the Committee moved the competition to the inside of the Port, where there was more wind.

Triay and Franceschi took advantage of the conditions to impose their law ahead of Damián Borrás and Inés Abreu, who, after finishing fourth on the first day, secured second place with two second places on Sunday for a total of 8 points. The podium was closed by Marta Torner and Enrique Mir with 13 points and signing the triplet of Club Marítimo de Mahón.

The Artiem Snipe Circuit 2023-24 will come to a close on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of June, when the winners will be announced after the four races scheduled by the organizers.

The event has been added to a very intense and emotional weekend for the Club Marítimo de Mahón, as on Saturday they saw and applauded how seven of their athletes were honored by the Town Hall. This is the case of the canoeists Vinca Escandell, Alma Rabinerson, Ana Carreras, Martina Jiménez and Claudia Vidal, and the sailors Jordi Triay, Enric Nogueras, Sara Franceschi and the experienced Damián Borrás.

In addition, on Sunday the club participated in the Festa de l'Esport al Carrer organized by the Town Hall and had an optimist and a canoe in the Explanada square, which delighted the attendees and brought the club a little closer to the people of Mahón.
