Juan Carlos Fuentes will continue to lead the Balearic Canoeing Federation

The Balearic Canoeing Federation has its team in place to lead the entity for the next four years. After the elections, in which there was only one candidacy, that of Juan Carlos Fuentes García, he has been ratified by the General Directorate of Sports of the Balearic Government as president of the federation.

In this way, Fuentes, who has been president of the federation since 2020, remains at the helm and will continue in the position until 2028. Beatriz Menéndez González, Asier Fernández de Bobadilla Rola, Clara Cano de Alarcón Borel, José Bartolomé Guasch Tur, Carla Vey Suárez, Juan Miguel Llompart Jover, María del Mar Ramón Barceló, Juan José Vallejo Company, and Victoria Benavides López de Ayala make up the rest of the board of directors.

The president of the Balearic Canoeing Federation is one of five territorial leaders who have supported the complaint filed by former Olympic paddler Alfredo Bea with the Administrative Court of Sport and the Spanish Sports Council against the president of the Royal Spanish Canoeing Federation, Javier Hernanz, accusing him of violating the regulations and the electoral calendar approved by the Spanish Sports Council. Bea states that Hernanz has violated the deadlines for publishing the initial census, has not appointed the Managing Commission or the Electoral Board, as stipulated in the regulations, and has obstructed the electoral process, putting its transparency and legitimacy at risk.
