YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The Councilor for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, signed the resolution on Monday to open the center located at Carrer Teixidors 22 in the Polígono Son Castelló, in the former EMT depot in Palma.
In this way, the young people will be able to resume their classes in the new, modern building, which has a capacity for more than 300 students. "We are very happy to finally be able to announce the opening of L'Embat," said the councilor. "Since we took the office, we have said that this was one of our priority projects and we have proved it: in four months we have done what the previous government did not do in seven years".
He also recalled the importance of this project given the importance of the nautical sector in the Balearic Islands and the professional career that young people who opt for this training focused on boat maintenance can achieve.
The L'Embat project was announced seven years ago by the former president Francina Armengol and her entire executive. The Government and the City Council reached an agreement whereby the former rented the facilities to the latter at a monthly rate of 15,000 euros, which has meant the disbursement of half a million euros in this concept. But the work did not begin until 2021, and they were supposed to last a year.
"Not only was it not inaugurated in 2022, but another provisional solution had to be found for the young people and they were placed in the old ASIMA fire station," recals the councilor. "Now, at last, we can announce the forthcoming inauguration of the definitive center, which is set to become one of Mallorca's nautical training benchmarks.
