The regatta organized by RCMtmo and Tenis de Punta Umbría brought together forty athletes from different autonomous communities and was resolved after nine races.
FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES AND RECEIVE UPDATES FROM "PASSION FOR THE SEA"This Sunday, May 31st, the Windsurfer Spanish Championship concluded in the waters of Punta Umbría, Huelva, where Lluís Colomé stood out for his great performance as he managed to make it to the podium in his category and become the runner-up in the heavyweight division.
The sailors competed in a total of nine races (four on Friday, three on Saturday, and two on Sunday), as planned by the organization, in which light wind, currents, and many waves predominated, as is characteristic in the Gulf of Cádiz.
In the heavyweight category, Enrique Mas, sports director of Es Nàutic, also competed, finishing fifth after being disqualified in one of the races on the last day, when he was in second place in the standings. The first place went to Fernando González de la Madrid from CN Puerto Sherry, the second place was for Lluís Colomé from Es Nàutic, and Esteban M. Abarca from CN Mar completed the podium.
In terms of overall results, Lluís Colomé managed to secure the tenth position and Enrique Mas, the nineteenth.
After the regatta, the trophy presentation and the Spanish champion plaque took place, in an event attended by Luis Marquínez, president of RCMT Punta Umbría, and Gaspar Llinares, member of the Board of Directors of the Andalusian Sailing Federation.
