The CEACNA (Spanish Confederation of Associations of Nautical Clubs) has elected, during the celebration of its Extraordinary Assembly on December 6th in Palma de Mallorca, Luis Enguita Melendo from Andalusia as the new president of the entity, succeeding the Balearic Miguel Suñer Riera, who has led the organization for four years.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERDuring his term, Miguel Suñer Riera has made significant contributions, including participation in the Draft Law of State Ports, the holding of a national symposium, and the commencement of negotiations for the national collective bargaining agreement of nautical clubs' workers. “His dedication and commitment have left a positive mark on the association and the nautical community we serve,” acknowledges the statement sent from the entity.
Luis Enguita Melendo, who has been part of the association since 2008, “has shown a strong commitment to our mission and vision,” they assure. With a background in the Andalusian Association of Nautical Clubs and at the Punta Umbría Nautical Club, “he is prepared to guide the association towards the challenges that Nautical Clubs currently face,” states the release.
“I am honored to assume the new presidency and grateful for the trust,” said Enguita. “I am committed to working alongside our Autonomous Associations and our Nautical Clubs to continue strengthening our community and achieving our goals.”
Luis Enguita, now as president and on behalf of CEACNA, has wanted to thank Miguel Suñer Riera for his leadership and dedication, not only as president of the CEACNA, but also for his years at the helm of the Balearic Association and his contribution to sport nautics from his position as president of the Club Nàutic Sa Rápita, and wished him the best in his future projects.
Following the appointment of Luis Enguita as president, the board of directors was composed of the homonym from the Galician Association of Nautical Clubs, the president of the Valencian Association, and the president of the Balearic Association as vice-presidents. As board members the presidents of the Canarian Association, the Catalan Association, and the Murcian Association. As treasurer, the president of the RCN Torrevieja, Carlos Carmona Gil and as secretary the historic Rafael Palmer Ramiro, who has been since the foundation of the CEACNA.
During the Assembly, the budgets for the year 2025 and the action plan for the next year were also approved. The most immediate is the negotiations of the national collective bargaining agreement for workers of nautical clubs which is ongoing and is expected to be concluded at the beginning of next year. Also, the celebration of the next national symposium in Galicia, scheduled for May. As well as proposals for community strengthening aimed at implementing programs that promote active participation of the members and collaboration with other national organizations.
