Magnificent Fishing Day at the Trobada de Roquer of the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita

10th July 2024 by Nautimedia

This past weekend, the waters of Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita hosted the Trobada de Roquer, the second of these fishing events since Esteve Ferrer took over as the club's fishing officer, following the Trobada de Peix Pla a few weeks ago.

The event kicked off at 7 a.m. with breakfast, where the thirty participants fueled up with ensaimadas and potato cakes for the day ahead. By 8 a.m., the dozen participating boats set sail towards the designated fishing area chosen by the club, which consisted of a one-mile radius circle between Ses Covetes and the Colònia de Sant Jordi, in a zone with a maximum depth of 20 meters.

During the fishing session, which ended at noon, participants caught the following species, all with their respective minimum sizes according to current regulations: red mullet (11 cm), blotched picarel (12 cm), painted comber (12 cm), Mediterranean rainbow wrasse (12 cm), blacktail comber (12 cm), ornate wrasse (12 cm), saddled seabream (12 cm), parrotfish (14 cm), common pandora (15 cm), painted comber (18 cm), and common dentex (23 cm).

After a great fishing session, the boats that made it to the podium of the Trobada were: "Bona Mar" by Miquel Capó and Joan Portell, who ranked first with 2.895 kilos of fish per person. In second place was the boat "Noelia II" by Biel Puigserver, with Toni Ferrari and Damià Salvà, and in third place was "Na Lida" by Matías García, accompanied by Joan Moragues.

After fishing, participants enjoyed a meal at the club's facilities, consisting of vegetable cakes as starters and suckling pig as the main course.

"We at the CNR Fishing Section are very satisfied with this Trobada, as well as with the previous Peix Pla. It was a magnificent day, very pleasant, and in addition to good fishing, there was a great atmosphere of camaraderie and friendship among the fishermen," said Esteve Ferrer, Fishing Officer of the Club. "Our intention is for these Trobades to continue and become a draw for growth, consolidating as must-attend events for fishing enthusiasts in Sa Ràpita," he added.

These events are open to members of the CNR Fishing Club, which can include both members and non-members of the entity. Interested parties can contact the offices or the Fishing Section. The next Trobada will be the Interclubs, on July 27th.
