MARE launches ‘Significar,’ an exhibition that brings us closer to the beauty and fragility of the B

“Significar,” a dialogue between photography and the written word, is featured in the MARE Contest exhibition that brings us closer to the sea. MADRE primarily uses photography to spread the message about the importance of participating in the conservation of the Balearic Sea. The exhibition can be visited on the Paseo Marítimo at the Port of Alcudia until August 27.

MARE, the Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea, continues its initiative to immerse the public in the marine environment through a street-level exhibition with images of the surrounding sea.

The opening ceremony for MARE’s traveling exhibition at the Port of Alcúdia took place yesterday, Tuesday, August 6, at 11:00 am at the entrance of Alcudiamar, attended by Mar Vera and Ignacio Ramos, Expansion and Sustainable Development Manager and Communication and Marketing Manager of Alcudiamar, respectively, Toni Ginard, Director of the Balearic Port Authority, Juan Luis González, Deputy Mayor of Alcudia, and Amador Garcias, MARE Coordinator.

This exhibition marks its first time in northern Mallorca, supported by Alcudiamar, thus reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and environmental respect, as well as that of the Balearic Port Authority.

From August 6 to 27, it can be visited on the Paseo Marítimo of the Port of Alcudia. After starting in Palma, the exhibition returns from Menorca to Mallorca again. At the end of August, it will travel to Formentera and Ibiza, completing its journey through all the Balearic Islands.

“Significar,” as the exhibition is titled, aims to bring the public closer to the richness, beauty, and fragility of the Balearic Sea through a dialogue between image and word. Significar is an exhibition open to multiple interpretations, as many as there are visitors.
