In collaboration with Club Deportivo UID Ibiza, Handbol Club Ibiza, and Club Esportiu Can Cantó for basketball, Marina Ibiza has significantly supported the promotion of these three sports activities, encouraging the practice of sports among the youth of Ibiza and the growth of these disciplines, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Collaboratively, Marina Ibiza has also worked alongside Club Náutico Ibiza by providing spaces, moorings, and participating in the coordination of emblematic regattas, such as the Finn Regatta and the Pitiusas Nautical Days, which foster a passion for the sea, nautical culture, and energize these sports activities.
Moreover, Marina Ibiza has shown solidarity with the community, an example of this being three significant donations in favor of charitable causes. Firstly, Marina Ibiza, along with the restaurant Filin located within its facilities, organized a brunch every Sunday of the season to raise funds to support IFCC (Ibiza and Formentera against cancer). Secondly, alongside the restaurant Calma also located within its premises, they promoted the donation of part of the menu revenues to Ibiza Preservation, an organization committed to the conservation of the island's natural heritage. Lastly, Marina Ibiza made a donation to ADDIF (Association of Adapted Sport of Ibiza and Formentera), to support the development of their project. This year, due to the natural disaster that devastated Valencia, Marina Ibiza also collaborated with different types of assistance.
In the environmental field, Marina Ibiza is a promoter and sponsor of the Marine Forum since its creation. This forum is a space for exchange and learning about the protection of the seas and biodiversity. The forum has hosted talks by internationally prestigious speakers and interesting activities on key issues, such as the protection of Posidonia, a marine plant essential for the health of marine ecosystems, or the census of marine flora and fauna of our waters.
As a novelty in environmental issues, the marina has begun a collaboration with Trueworld, an organization focused on scientific dissemination and committed to improving the environment through scientifically advanced and technologically advanced tools that ensure the veracity and quality of the information for better use of it. With this organization, various research works and activities for the conservation of Ibiza's seabed are being carried out.
One of the most notable advances in this regard has been the testing of the first electric boat equipped with special software, whose mission is to obtain ultra-precise and fundamental data for the study and conservation of local marine ecosystems. Marina Ibiza, in addition to actively contributing to this study, has positioned this boat at its facilities to obtain quality documentation of its seabed to later promote actions to improve the quality of both the waters, the habitat of countless species, and the native fauna and flora.
Additionally, Marina Ibiza has collaborated with the association Un Mar de Posibilidades, providing mooring in winter for one of its boats.
In terms of its efforts to preserve water quality and the marine environment, Marina Ibiza has renewed for the thirteenth consecutive year the blue flag, a recognition that endorses the environmental excellence of the marina and its compliance with sustainability standards.
Finally, in the field of underwater archaeology, Marina Ibiza has collaborated with IBEAM (Balearic Institute of Marine Studies) in the inauguration of the first Underwater Archaeology Center of the Balearic Islands, located in the port of La Savina, in Formentera. This collaboration reinforces the marina's commitment to protecting underwater cultural heritage, promoting research that will allow the discovery and preservation of historical vestiges of the region.
Through these initiatives, Marina Ibiza reaffirms its commitment to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and environmental preservation, and the well-being of the community, establishing itself as a company that not only leads the nautical sector but also actively contributes to improving the quality of life and respect for the natural environment that surrounds it.
