The third edition of the Ibiza JoySail ended with the victory of Moat (Performance), Dark Horse (Performance Cruising), Aurelius (World Cruising) and Svea (J Class), after the celebration of the three races in ‘pitiusas’ waters, a successful edition of record participants and where the fleet enjoyed in the water and on land.

In this edition of the Ibiza JoySail names have passed the level of Bouwe Bekking and Paul Westlake (Svea), Peter Holmberg and Francesco de Angelis (Topaz), Will Oxley and Mark Sadler (Jasi), Guillermo Parada (Moat), Andy Beadsworth and Bill Tripp (Prevail), Jesper Bank (All Smoke) among others. And Spanish like Pablo Arrarte (Jasi), Nacho Postigo and Javier de la Plaza (Topaz), Juanlu Paez (Moat), Pachi Rivero (All Smoke) or Simbad Quiroga (Svea).

The Moat (Swan 115) continues to be the king of the Ibiza JoySail after winning the past three editions of the superyachts regatta launched in 2021 and where the boat of Juan Ball is one of the great references, that next to Dark Horse (Swan 80) winner of the Performance Cruising, are the only ones participated in all of the editions of the Ibiza JoySail.

Juan Ball, one of the big ambassadors of the regatta commented on the arrival at Marina Ibiza as a three-time champion of the Ibiza JoySail that “it is a regatta that we love, and since he started the project three years ago they invited us to participate and from then we have always gone there”. Furthermore, this year the incentive for Moat was to compete with Jasi, a twin boat: “We have been competing hand in hand with Jasi and this has been very productive for both of us”.

In Performance, the duel between the two twin boats, Moat and Jasi, this last one was launched at the Ibiza JoySail which has been spectacular, taking the victory the Moat after winning the three races, meanwhile Jasi marks three seconds and the All Smoke (SW-RP 90) was third, overcoming the last journey to Kiboko Tres (SW 105) that took fourth place overall but was awarded with a prize for champion of the Corinthian category.

The Performance Cruising Dark Horse has been the champion after demonstrating an incredible evolution in only three years, winning for the first time the Ibiza JoySail. The American Prevail was second and Shambo (Y7 70), which contested its first regatta came in third position, and won in its category the prize for Corinthian.

The World Cruising the Aurelius has won both in its category and the prize for Corinthian. The second place was taken by the Scorpion of London (Baltic 151), and the biggest and most elegant boat, tied by points in the third position classifying the Alarife 100 (Custom 99).

The anticyclone that affected the Mediterranean throughout the week meant that the record could not be set on the first day between Palma and Ibiza. Already in ‘pitiusas’ waters, although the wind barely reached 6 knots any of the four days of races, the Regatta Committee led by Gaspar Morey, Pablo Ferrer and Arianne Mainemare, were able to make a daily competition, with complicated conditions, setting up three routes where the fleet had to make the most of it, and leaving the Marina Ibiza with good feelings and looking forward to going back.
