Marina Port Valencia: The New Port-City Integration Project

Last May, proposals were presented for the Management and Operation Competition of the Nautical-Sport Facilities in the north area of the Port of Valencia, convened by the Port Authority of Valencia.

The concession was awarded to the consortium of companies formed by SERVEIS MARITIMS PORT EIVISSA and OCIBAR, who will be responsible for managing and operating the nautical-sport facilities in the north area of the Port of Valencia.

This partnership, whose right to operate and manage the concession was signed on Tuesday, October 1st, will start operating and developing the project submitted to the Port Authority of Valencia for a minimum term of 35 years.

The project, which encompasses the spaces of Marina Norte, Marina Sur, and the Inner Dock, aims to remodel the entire area and endow it with a unique, authentic personality distinct from its current state. Given its privileged environment compared to other nautical facilities in the Mediterranean and thanks to unbeatable connections with major nautical hubs, the new Concessionaire of the Port of Valencia will work to revive the life and spirit the area had in past times and improve the spaces with appealing nautical-sport and social proposals, so that this area gains the importance and appeal it deserves.

For this purpose, adaptation works are planned that will transform the space into four areas of unique and special activity. On one hand, the three marinas at the heart of the city will accommodate boats ranging from 8 meters to 130 meters in length. On the other hand, the construction of a shipyard with top-level industrial partners specialized in boat repair and maintenance is planned. Thirdly, there will be a leisure, dining, and entertainment area with design spaces integrated with the environment that will make the area a point of attraction for local, national, and international audiences. Lastly, the marina will be equipped with an office space, a unique commercial and workspace area with unparalleled sea views and iconic architectural buildings. All this will be integrated into a truly attractive and special environment with parking services, bike lanes, running tracks, spectacular terraces, and landscaping and green areas that will bring life to the entire space.

The project also includes the development of projects in the social, nautical, environmental, or sports aspects, which will be implemented as the works are completed.

There is an essential factor in the success of all facilities managed by SEMAR and OCIBAR, and it is that both companies not only embody excellence and a commitment to service in all aspects but also give each facility its own personality and integration into the location where they are situated.
