Once again this year, the Grimaldi Mare Nostrum Magazine has announced the XVI Edition of the Mare Nostrum Awards International Journalism Prize, a contest that will award five cash prizes starting at 10,000 euros each, thus reaching a total of 50,000 euros.
STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTEROver the years, the competition has been expanding its cultural objectives and thematic areas of interest, with the aim of faithfully reflecting the process of transformation and evolution of which the shipping sector is the protagonist at a global level, as well as the deep respect for the environment that has always inspired the action of the Grimaldi Group.
Therefore, all works that promote the Motorways of the Sea as a valid alternative to road freight transport, that improve maritime connections in the Mediterranean for tourism purposes and highlight the health of the marine ecosystem are eligible for the Journalism Award.
Journalists, publicists, photographers, audiovisual professionals and authors in general residing in Europe, Tunisia and Morocco who have disseminated and valorized these themes through journalistic articles and reports, accounts of sea voyages, research on new trends as well as on cargo and passenger services, economic-tourist research, documentaries, radio and television reports and photographic reports are eligible to participate. Articles consisting of an interview with a single interviewer will not be considered.
The competition is open to works created in Italian, English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Greek and published between September 15th, 2023 and April 15th, 2024 in national newspapers and magazines (online and offline), specialized transport, economic and tourism media (offline) and online, press agencies, national and local radio and television stations, magazines and photography exhibitions, documentary and environmental portals, travel blogs.
Nominations must reach the Award Organizing Secretariat by April 30th, 2024, both in digital format (word file) by e-mail to mna@grimaldi.napoli.it, and in original format. To encourage the direct experience of sailing, those who wish may make a return voyage before March 31st, 2024 on board the ships Grimaldi Lines, Minoan Lines and Trasmed GLE in service between Italy, Spain and Greece.
